We started this blog November 2010 at Nipissing University during our year of teachers college. We are two old friends who have spent lots of time in woods, up mountains, on rivers, lakes and dirt roads of Canada. Throughout our lives we have developed a love for writing letters.
We often feel that communication is too fast, too thoughtless, and too distracting! To combat endless e-mails, texts, tweets and facebook messages, we have decided to embrace a key component of teachers college- the practice of reflection! In doing so we are celebrating and enjoying the slllllloooooooowwwwww.
So... fear not future Nipissing students! We have found an antidote to your workload blues... and it's in an envelope! After long days of class, lesson planning and group work, we just stop working... and we start crafting, reflecting and obsessing.
This blog provides a place for us to archive the letters we send all over Canada and the world. Our goal is to motivate others to pick up a pen, and purchase some stamps!

March Break! Here in Haliburton, I went for a walk on the lake, following a snowmobile trail. All of a sudden, seven deer ran out on the ice, and as the first one saw me, he stopped and turned toward me. Then the next one did the same.... and so on until all seven were standing watching me in a perfect line-up. It felt like it was all choreographed... like some crazy deer musical. Woodland Glee, maybe. Anyway, I thought I would share my March Break magic with y'all. Janet
